- During the war, Nancy worked for BSO and was parachuted into France in April 1944 before D-Day to deliver weapons to the French Resistance Fighters.
- During World War II, she saved hundreds of lives of Allied soldiers by bringing them through France to Spain. She also helped the British military and the French Resistance have communication in 1944 to work together and weaken the Germans
- She killed a German soldier with her bare hands and requested the execution of a woman believed to be a German spy.
- She became a French Resistance Fighter while she visited Vienna, Austria in the 1930s. Here, she witnessed the Nazi gangs beating Jewish men and women in the streets.
- She met Henri Fiocca, in 1936 and married him in 1939 to settle in Marseilles, France. With the German invasion of France, she used her wealth and social standing to help French Resistance Groups defeat the Nazis. In 1943, she escaped France when the Nazis learned about what she was doing to help the Allies. Her husband was arrested, tortured, and executed because he wouldn't give information on the whereabouts of Nancy.
- Nancy had both an immediate and long term effect on the war. One way is that she saved the lives of people and Allied soldiers. also a long term effect is that she saved the generation of families that didn't die.
- She was awarded the French Legion D'Honneur, the best military honor in France, for her services during World War II.
